“Where There is a Right, There Must be a Remedy.”
MM~LAW’s “culture” is anchored in the declarations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Edmund Burke, and Theodore Roosevelt.
In his 1967 speech, Time to Break Silence, Dr. King stated that, "Silence is betrayal," declaring that failing to act against injustice is a form of complicity.
Edmund Burke, paraphrasing John Stuart Mills, wrote, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men [people] to do nothing.”
Each team member of MM~LAW shares the motivation, enthusiasm, commitment, and persistence to advance the dual aspirational goals: 1) Every person has the right to justice ; and 2) Every victim of serious violations of international human rights law and gross violations of international humanitarian law must have a remedy.
President Theodore Roosevelt, in his Third Annual Message to Congress, stated, "No man is above the law, and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it."
No person, no organization, no business, and no government is above the law. Restorative justice means that everyone must be held accountable for harm done to others.
MM~LAW’s culture is built on an unwavering commitment to victims and survivors of international crimes. Since 2000, MM~LAW has dedicated its practice exclusively to representing victims of international terrorism, crimes against humanity, genocide, torture, human trafficking, and slavery, in civil litigation against the financial and support networks that enable such atrocities.
We at MM~LAW believe in teamwork, mutual respect for each team member, and everyone contributing 100% effort to representing our clients in their fight for their inalienable rights, justice, and fair compensation.
Justice requires exposing and confronting not only direct perpetrators, but also the financiers, profiteers, aiders, abettors, and institutions that sustain systems of violence and exploitation in civil courts, seeking civil remedies.
These principles shape every aspect of our work, from our multilingual human rights and counterterrorism research division, which documents and preserves admissible evidence across continents, to our litigation strategies aimed at dismantling transnational criminal and financial networks. Our independence is central to our identity: we do not represent perpetrators, profiteers, or states, but stand exclusively alongside victims and survivors in the pursuit of accountability, remedies, and justice.
At MM~LAW, we operate as a united professional family, driven by dedication, integrity, professionalism, and a profound shared sense of purpose. The scale and importance of our mission strengthen our commitment to supporting one another, recognizing that confronting the networks that profit from human suffering requires resilience, trust, collaboration, and unwavering ethical standards.
Our work is guided by respect for the dignity, safety, rights, and voices of survivors and their families. We are guided by the belief that no individual, institution, or entity should profit from violence, exploitation, or human suffering. We stand alongside victims and survivors from all backgrounds and communities worldwide.
By combining our collective expertise across all stages of the fight for justice, we work together to dismantle systems of impunity and advance meaningful justice for victims and survivors.
Our motto – “Where There is a Right, There Must be a Remedy.”
